MY BACKGROUND

Ariel Vasquez is a lifelong Miami-Dade County resident and proud member of the North Miami Beach community. His family moved to the city in 1993, where he grew up attending Greynolds Park Elementary, JFK Middle, and North Miami Beach High schools. His deep roots in the community have given him a firsthand understanding of the people, families, neighborhoods, and challenges that make North Miami Beach home. For over 10 years, Ariel served the City of North Miami Beach through the Public Works Department, working in beautification and water conservation. His career was rooted in public service, helping maintain and improve the community he calls home.

A DEDICATED SERVANT

For the past 20 years, Ariel has also served as a pastor in North Miami Beach, dedicating his life to uplifting families, supporting residents, and being there for people in times of need. His commitment to service extends beyond the pulpit. He also serves as a Chaplin to the NMBPD.

Ariel has participated in hurricane relief efforts, helping deliver first aid and a message of hope to communities in crisis. Each year, he has also helped organize community Christmas events that provide toys, health screenings, and resources to local families. Ariel does not consider himself a politician. He is a servant. He believes public office should be about listening to residents and making a meaningful difference in the community. Now, Ariel is ready to bring that same spirit of service to the North Miami Beach City Commission as a voice for the people, an advocate for our neighborhoods, and a champion for a stronger, safer, and more beautiful North Miami Beach.

MISSION STATEMENT

Community First, Always

Priorities for a Stronger North Miami Beach: A Vision for Safer, Stronger, and More Beautiful Neighborhoods

North Miami Beach deserves a City Commission that focuses on the fundamentals for a thriving community: investing in our infrastructure, taking pride in the appearance of all neighborhoods and commercial corridors, and making public safety a top priority.

As a candidate for City Commission, I will focus on three priorities that directly affect the quality of life of our residents, businesses, and families.

1. Infrastructure Investment: Addressing the Needs Now, Building for the Future

Our city must invest in infrastructure before problems become emergencies.

Drainage and stormwater infrastructure, Water and sewer system improvements, and Improving street lighting and traffic infrastructure are only a starting point.

The message is simple: We cannot expect a thriving city without investing in the foundation that supports it. I will advocate for a realistic, multi-phase comprehensive infrastructure plan that identifies our most pressing needs, establishes priorities, identifies funding sources, and provides residents with transparency about what is being done and when.

Residents do not deserve sewage backup on their properties. Aside from Miami Dade's Connect 2 Protect septic to sewer conversion assistance program, we need to leverage state, federal, and other outside funding to reduce the burden on our residents.

2. Beautiful Neighborhoods & Vibrant Commercial Corridors

How our city looks matters. Not just in some neighborhoods, ALL neighborhoods. Clean, attractive neighborhoods create pride, encourage investment, support property values, and help attract businesses and visitors.

I will advocate to increase funding to support residential and commercial beautification initiatives focused on improving the appearance and vitality of our city.

For our residential neighborhoods, that looks like:

Consistent neighborhood clean-up initiatives.

Tree planting to combat extreme heat crisis.

Code compliance education and proactive enforcement.

Investments in parks, medians, and public spaces.

For our commercial corridors, we deserve:

Landscaping and streetscape enhancements.

Improved signage and lighting.

Cleaner, safer, more pedestrian-friendly corridors.

Beautification isn't just about making the city look better. It's about creating an environment where people want to live, businesses want to invest, and families want to build their future.

3. Public Safety: Professionalism, Training & Accountability

Every resident deserves to feel safe in their home, neighborhood, business, and community.

Public safety must remain one of the City's highest priorities, and that starts with supporting our police officers while demanding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.

I will support continued investments in training, technology, recruitment and professional development. Supporting our police department and holding it to high standards are not competing goals. They are both essential to building public trust.

I ask for your support to help build a Stronger NMB where results show up in your neighborhood too. I want to help build a city where:

Our roads and infrastructure work.

Our neighborhoods are clean and beautiful.

Our businesses have corridors where they can thrive.

Our police department is trained, professional, and accountable.

And our residents can be proud to call North Miami Beach home.

It's time to properly invest in our entire city, take pride in our community, and build a safer and stronger North Miami Beach for everyone.
